elcome to my new blog. If you came here looking for the old site, you'll notice that there are a few changes here. Actually, lots of changes...important ones so that hopefully my friends and clients can get to know a little bit more about me and my work. So here's a little background:
A few years ago, I was given what was an opportunity of a lifetime; the chance to work with a world-class team of photographers. I was drawn to their innovative style and forward-thinking mindset, and it was from there that our team and my passion for photography grew...and grew. Everyday since has been a learning experience for me, and photography continues to be a huge part of my life. I hope you enjoy this new site and feel free to leave your comments anytime. - Ryan |

One of the very cool parts of their celebration had to be the photobooth, which I gladly took part in as well. You can see some of those fun photos at towards the end of this post. After trying it out myself, I'd definitely recommend it as an option to have at a reception. There's even a goofy photo of me, Lisa and Veronica floating around out there...but, as I say, what happens in the photobooth, stays in the photobooth, right?
Also, if you'd like to see more photos from their wedding, feel free to check out there slideshow HERE.

WHEN:

WHERE:
St. Catalina Chapel, Waimanalo

Liana was referred to Dulce by her friends Judy and Kui, who were one of my first weddings when I started shooting with Visionari. Liana and I kept in touch throughout her planning process, going over the vision of her and Matt's special day. It's amazing how fast time has flown by since then, and on the day of their wedding, every detail turned out perfectly. Knowing first hand -- from my own wedding experience -- how much time and effort it takes to plan a wedding, Liana did a fantastic job pulling everything together.
I know I've said this before on other weddings, but shooting such a couple so comfortable in front of the camera made the day go by very quickly. Liana, who among her many accomplishments is also a model, didn't need much direction and even taught Lisa and I a thing or two about posing a bride during the portrait sessions. You may also recognize Matt, a former UH football linebacker, from his photos in the newspapers as well.

They were married at St. Catalina Chapel followed by an outdoor reception on the grounds of Sea Life Park. It was a little intimidating, shooting a wedding with so many high-profile guests in attendance, but the evening was filled with so much great entertainment, good food, speeches, dancing (and singing by the groomsmen)...any nervousness I had disappeared pretty quickly. Liana danced a surprise hula for Matt (which you can see in the slideshow Lisa put together for them). As with every wedding we shoot, we had a great time and made some really fantastic friends.
